Satellite 2025 Highlights Industry Change
Just wrapped up an energizing week at Satellite 2025 in Washington, D.C., and wow — the industry is really changing. In some ways it is daunting – but in many ways it is so exciting!
Caught up with so many colleagues and friends — it’s always a highlight to connect face-to-face with the people shaping the future of space and satellite tech. It was such fun to hear what everyone was doing and how the changes in the industry were impacting their work.
This year’s buzzwords?
• Starlink and Direct-to-Device (D2D) services are redefining accessibility.
• Sovereign constellations are gaining traction as countries double down on space strategy.
• Launch supply remains top of mind as demand ramps up.
• And global 5G integration is no longer theoretical — it’s happening.
One standout observation: the audience was much more diverse this year. We saw new faces — non-traditional attendees and adjacent sectors — signaling the growing role of satellite in mainstream telecom infrastructure.
On the floor, new exhibitors showcased cutting-edge flat panel antennas — a sign of innovation accelerating at the network edge.
The Satellite industry isn’t just evolving — it’s converging. And that’s incredibly exciting.
